Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of hematologists, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners,
registered nurses, physical therapists, social workers, and other specialists of the hemophilia treatment center (HTC) team, as well as
clinicians interested in the treatment and management of patients with hemophilia.
Statement of Need/Program Overview
Providing the best care possible to patients with hemophilia requires staying up-to-date on new and ongoing research and clinical trials.
This educational activity is designed to present newly released clinical data on hemophilia, from scientific posters, abstracts, and published articles,
to clinicians who are unable to attend medical congresses throughout the year. Providing hemophilia treatment center clinicians with this latest information
from experts in the field enables them to continue to optimally address clinical challenges to hemophilia management in their everyday practice.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Discuss new clinical data from scientific posters, abstracts, and published articles about hemophilia and their bearing on clinical practice
- Assess evidence and expert commentary regarding diagnosis, treatment, and management of hemophilia with inhibitors
- Differentiate between therapeutic options for patients with severe hemophilia who have or are at risk for developing inhibitors
- Integrate expert recommendations concerning a case study into patient management strategies
- Provide appropriate care and counsel for patients and their families
